Built in September 1967 and delivered to its first owner in January 1968, this Silver Shadow is finished in white with a rich burgundy interior, and has spent its 40 year life in the Johannesburg area. First shown to the public in 1965 and produced until 1980, the Silver Shadow was Rolls-Royce's most successful model to date. Powered by a 6.2 litre V8 hand-built engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, independent hydraulic suspension, power-assisted steering and disc brakes all round, this car was a technological marvel. This continued in the interior with electronic seat adjustment, electronic gear selection, split-level climate control and electric windows. To complement this state of the art technology, the finest quality materials and hand-stitched interiors were used. Burr walnut adorns the vast dashboard, door cappings, rear fold-out picnic trays and rear passenger vanity mirrors. The seats and doors are covered in soft Connolly leather and the floors trimmed in Wilton carpets.
Classic lines, superior engineering, meticulous hand-crafting and the finest materials were combined to produce a car that was truly worthy of its title "The best car in the world". Experience the grace and elegance of a bygone era with The White Rolls. The Silver Shadow is available for weddings, matric dances and other special events. Please contact us for more information. Vanden Plas Princess 4l RBuilt in 1965 and delivered to its first owner in January 1966, this Vanden Plas Princess 4lR was sold by Kingsley & Marais Motors in Pretoria. Built at a time when luxury taxes in the UK made owning an exotic car extremely expensive, BMC (later Leyland) and Rolls-Royce collaborated on a project for a more affordable luxury saloon - and the Princess 4lR was created. This Princess is the only passenger vehicle not built by Rolls-Royce to have their engine. The cars were assembled and trimmed by Vanden Plas at their Kingsbury works. Vanden Plas had previously produced coachbuilt bodies and interiors for many exclusive makes, and the Princess was trimmed in the finest materials - Connolly Hide leather seats, West of England wool headliner cloth, Wilton Weave wool carpets and burr walnut dash, door cappings and rear fold-out picnic trays. Equipped with the Rolls-Royce 4 litre 6 cylinder engine, 3-speed automatic gearbox, power steering and electronic damping adjustment, this car was powerful and smooth and could cruise effortlessly at 100 mph. Less than 7000 of these cars were built worldwide between 1964 and 1968, and are becoming a rare sight on our roads these days.
This car is finished in sherwood green with a grey leather interior, and is currently in an original (unrestored) condition, having covered just over 50000 miles since new. Experience luxury motoring from the 60's with the understated elegance of this unique vehicle. Rolls-Royce Silver SpiritLaunched in 1981 to replace the Silver Shadow, the Silver Spirit was built up to 1996. Featuring a 6.75 litre V8 engine with 3-speed automatic transmission, these cars had hydraulic suspension, independent climate control, electric seats, power steering and many other refinements to give a 'magic carpet' ride to its occupants. Combining modern luxuries with classic elements such as leather and wood trim, the Spirit represented a modern Rolls-Royce for the 80's and 90's - and still delivers exceptional quality, performance and innovation when compared with today's cars. Finished in Metallic Red with a tan leather interior, this car is available for guests wanting a more modern touch to that special occasion.
