Built in September 1967 and delivered to its first
owner in January 1968, this Silver Shadow is finished in white with
a rich burgundy interior, and has spent its 43 year life in the
Johannesburg area.
First shown to the public in 1965 and produced until
1980, the Silver Shadow was Rolls-Royce's most successful model
to date. Powered by a 6.2 litre V8 hand-built engine, 4-speed automatic
transmission, independent hydraulic suspension, power-assisted steering
and disc brakes all round, this car was a technological marvel. This continued in the interior with electronic seat adjustment,
electronic gear selection, split-level climate control and electric
windows.
To complement this state of the art technology, the finest
quality materials and hand-stitched interiors were used. Burr walnut
adorns the vast dashboard, door cappings, rear fold-out picnic trays
and rear passenger vanity mirrors. The seats and doors are covered
in soft Connolly leather and the floors trimmed in Wilton carpets.
Classic lines, superior engineering, meticulous hand-crafting
and the finest materials were combined to produce a car that was
truly worthy of its title "The best car in the world".
Experience the grace and elegance of a bygone era.
